We spent the sixth day of our vacation in the Everglades. First, we went in the Homestead entrance of the Everglades National Park and we walked around the Anhinga and Gumbo Limbo Trails..
We saw lizards
And insects (Submitting this photo to Macro Mondays.)
And alligators
And some baby alligators. Cute.
But still scary looking.
Although I am not sure which was scarier: the alligators or the vultures.
One of them actually barked at me. Yes, barked. Like a dog.
The Anhinga Trail is named after the anhinga birds which are common to the area. They stand with their wings spread out to dry them.
Baby anhinga.
There were also lots of pretty blue herons.
I am submitting this photo to Sweet Shot Tuesdays. You are supposed to submit your best photo of the week, but I am so behind on processing my photos, I am going to submit the best photo I processed this week.
And some other pretty birds too.
And more alligators.
Believe it or not, there are actually more photos from the Anhinga and Gumbo Limbo Trails on my Flickr.
Wow...ALL of these shots are amazing. Looks like a fun vacation!!! I'm your newest follower. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the Everglades! Wonderful details of the dragonfly. Happy Macro Monday.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely wonderful macros!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to be following you...
Amazing shots, all of them!
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome series of wonderful photos. I cannot tell which I like the best, but I think it has to be the “long bearded heron" that looks to remind me of a little old mamma. I think it the texture of his gray feathers that did it for me. Growing up in Palm Beach, Florida, I saw enough of those scary alligators/crocs to frighten me for the rest of my days. A fine post full of beautiful shots.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! We've been to Florida a few times on vacation ourselves, there's such an interesting wildlife there to work with!
ReplyDeleteOh wow...such amazing shots! I enjoyed each one.
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome! Your photos are really beautiful. Makes me want to visit the Everglades.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
